Marla J. Thompson is the founder of Buzz Communications Inc., a solutions provider specializing in cause-related event marketing, strategic communications, brand management and public relations.  By fostering creative strategies and leveraging partnerships, Buzz’s chief priority is to help clients strategically position themselves to successfully promote their brand, advance their career, create, or enhance their image and raise awareness on their products or services.  This is done by crafting clients’ message, creating slogans, and getting your message out to local, regional, national and global media outlets.   Some of Buzz Communication’s clients include; Atlanta’s Star Entertainment, Global Link Home Builders Inc., African Investment  Holding,  Touch One, Touch a Generation and Networth Invest Properties.  

Prior to building Buzz Communications, Marla Thompson held management positions with major consumer goods companies in the Southeast Region and the Caribbean.  

A 1979 graduate of Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Thompson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, in Interpersonal Communications with a minor in Public Administration and is a recent MBA graduate from Regis University with a 3.8 GPA.

Recently, Thompson was awarded Planner of the Year and Recruiter of the Year from the Society of Government Meeting Professionals. Thompson also holds awards as America’s Best & Brightest Woman’ from Dollars & Sense Magazine and Georgia’s 100’s List of Most Powerful & Influential Women.   Thompson is dedicated to improving the quality of lives of others and currently lends her incessant energy as a board member for the East Point Business Association.   

 In her down time Thompson enjoys helping her 15 nieces and nephews, traveling internationally and has an insatiable curiosity for exotic cultures.  Thompson says, “I am grateful to have an opportunity to spread the word about the dreams and aspirations of others and blessed to live a life passionately dedicated to serving those who are underrepresented.”  Marla Thompson passionately lives a life of contribution.
